SLAMVI
Our Mission
The Latin American Society of Travel Medicine (SLAMVI) is a scientific organization with Latin American scope with members from different countries in the region, dedicated to treating health problems related to travelers, preserving individual health, the sending and receiving communities, and promoting healthy tourism, considering the care of the environment, as well as addressing the health conditions of migrant populations.
Objetivos
Promover la salud de las personas que viajan desde y hacia América Latina
Promover el conocimiento de la Medicina del Viajero y sus alcances, entre la comunidad médica, la sociedad en general y especialmente en los sectores de la economía más directamente relacionados con los viajes y el turismo
Lograr el reconocimiento de la Medicina del Viajero como especialidad médica independiente, en Latinoamérica
Crear un ámbito de discusión relacionado y dedicado a la Salud del Viajero
Promover un intercambio ágil y dinámico de los conocimientos en la Medicina del Viajero en América Latina
Promover en la región las investigaciones científicas en el área de la Medicina del Viajero
Capacitar a los profesionales y no profesionales que trabajan en áreas directa e indirectamente relacionadas con los viajeros
Fomentar y fortalecer la integración latinoamericana de los profesionales de nuestra especialidad, a través de conferencias, reuniones, cursos, simposios y congresos
